Jim Baugh Outdoors Archive Playlist Hits #1

Jim Baugh Outdoors TV has been diligently working at re-mastering our 30 year library of television. The programs that our studio is re-mastering are in the widescreen format and edited from original NTSC broadcast tapes. We are continuing to put the shows up on our YouTube Channel where they will remain forever.
There are not many outdoor programs that are able to make available their catalog online and span close to three decades. Although we post our new HD and 4k programs online as well as broadcast, our number 1 playlist is our show archives and we are very proud of that.
It is interesting to go back and see how the advancing technology has changed things. The new development in underwater cameras and drone technology simply enable JBOTV to film things that were not even possible back in the days of three quarter and beta sp. It truly is an exciting time to be a producer of outdoor television and the best is yet to come.
We would like to thank all our viewers over the many years who have followed our program and our sponsors that continue to support us.

Roll Tape!

Godspeed,
Jim Baugh

Winter 2017 Neopolitan Pizza Wood Fired Grill Roundup Jim Baugh Outdoors TV

Pizza Time!

We have been working with the Kettle Pizza Grill for over a year now and have made many great pies with this set up. The first issue we had was getting proper heat balance between the deck and dome This was eventually accomplished by adding a baking steel in the dome and a second stone on the deck. The second stone made for a cooler (around 500 degree) deck while the dome with the baking steel maintained 900 to 1000 degrees. These temp ranges allowed us to bake anywhere from 30 to 45 seconds to under 2 minutes.
Below are four of our films highlighting pizza baking around the 26, 41, 58, and 90 second mark. they aren't perfectm but darn good! We have also now pretty much perfected homemade mozzarella cheese and fresh strained tomato sauce made from garden vine ripe tomatoes and basil.
It has been a great journey figuring how to get the grill set up where it continually pops out nice neo pies. Also posted below is a link to our recipe page.
All in all, you can never beat a real wood fired oven for maintaining long term consistent heat, we just don’t have the place for it right now. So on the portable side, these grill set ups do a very good job as long as you can get the heat balance correct.
Enjoy!

Gear tips underwater filming JBOTV

When ask, and I get this quite a lot,

"How do you get such great underwater footage?"

My reply goes usually something like this.

"It's never a problem, until my breath runs out."

Or,

"The sharks don't bother me, that's why I have divers do the filming."

Or,

"When ever we film underwater, I make sure the batteries are in before the splash."

Or,

"Good underwater film requires knowledge of:
light refraction, color wavelengths, and a good post production facility."

All joking aside, we do work with some of the best divers in the business and my son also films who is an experienced diver and photographer. Working with highly experienced dive teams we are able to get some extraordinary footage and use some pretty high teck gear like underwater motorized sleds that can really cover some terrain. The deep diving I leave to the pro divers and have production meetings before the trip to lay out what we want filmed and how.

Most of the filming I do covers around the boat down to around 50 feet. I use a variety of monopods and deep water housings that are cabled to the boat. Filming this way we have gone through a lot of mounts and monopods, most just don't hold up to the pressure of fast moving water while a boat is in gear.

So once again I have gone down the road of customization to our cameras. Back in the day almost 30 years ago our camera gear was very large and heavy. Pricey as well, easily paying 60 to 70 grand for one camera. The funny thing was we always had to jerry rig something on the camera. Having to customize production gear has just been a part of the process to get things to work he way you want.

So in a nut shell, we replaced all plastic parts on our sports cameras with various aluminum waterproof mounts, poles, housings, and attachments. This has worked very well and saved some of our cameras from meeting Davey Jones Locker...permanently.

Below is a pic and the listing of the manufactures that make the gear. If your a captain and regularly film your clients catch, I highly recommend upgrading your camera set up.

On day for sure you will be glad you did!

The Alaska life Thrill Pro Aluminum Telescoping Monopod,
