A word of caution to anglers \ boaters

PICK YOUR DAYS!
Remember this one??? It happens, and too often.
As of 1pm today, two persons were confirmed dead, two in critical condition, and two suffering from mild hypothermia. . (click the link at bottom of post "Diving Reflex"-USSRTF, cold water survival) Reports indicate it was a small 18 foot -aluminum type boat (6 people?) and was near the small boat channel. The boat was registered in Arizona. Prayers to the families.
This time of year, we have thousands of boats out fishing for Rockfish during the ocean season . At times, the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay can be some of the most dangerous waters most captains will ever encounter. Heading out in a small craft advisory is not worth the risk, especially during the cold water months. Today's water temps at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel was approx. 45 degrees. This means that if you go in the drink, one may have about 30 to 45 min. before becoming unconscious. Body weight, alcohol intake, and clothing can effect hypothermia as well.
