NEWPORT NEWS - A sudden blast of wind tore down the Deep Creek Landing pier during this morning's storm.Marina employees said the wind seemed to blow across the water and toss the pier over on top of the boats moored there."The whole thing only took about 15 seconds," said marina employee Jessica Godfrey. "We saw what looked like a hazy fog cloud come right by us, and then just picked up the whole damn pier and flipped it."
No injuries were reported.
